Released as a single in 2014, “Alexander/Isabella” will also appear on the EP "Tiny Stars," coming out in December 2015. Vanity Fair linked to the single in connection with its article "Designed for Destruction" in August 2014. Mary Lyn wrote the song after reading about maverick designer Alexander McQueen and his close friend Isabella Blow, a well-known style maven. At the Metropolitan Museum exhibition of McQueen’s work, “Savage Beauty,” Mary Lyn took copious notes on his astounding, often outrageous designs and then tried to distill the essence of these two creative but troubled people, both of whom committed suicide. The song was recorded at Mercy Sound Studios in NYC by Nick Miller, who arranged the music and played all the instruments except the violin, which was beautifully handled by Joan Chew.
